MESSIAH’s MEMORIAL!

Do this in remembrance of me!” Luke 22:19

AḆIḆ is the only month in the entire Scriptures that was given a name by the Most High YAH! In like manner, SABBATH was the only day of the week that He called by name.

He does nothing without purpose, and by assigning names to specific times (or appointed times), He sets them apart and uses these times to teach us deeper truths! We can get caught up in the nuances of days, weeks, months, years, and seasons—and completely lose sight of the whole point! Messiah is in it all!

The Month of Aḇiḇ was first mentioned in Shemoth (Exodus) 13:4, and the Hebrew word for Aḇiḇ (אָבִיב) was first mentioned in Exodus 9:31, referring to the state of barley that spring. Aḇiḇ marked a major turning point in the lives of YAH’s chosen people—the seed of Aḇraham, with whom He had made a covenant, in which many promises were enshrined. One of these assurances given to our forefather, Aḇraham, was that although his descendants would be in bondage to the Egyptians for 400+ years, He—The Most High YAH—would deliver them and bring them into their inheritance (Genesis 15:13).

Prophetic promises can have multiple tiers of fulfillment. This one is no different. Even as YAH brought His people out of Egypt at the end of those 430 years, He is getting ready again to deliver the descendants of Aḇraham, now scattered across the four winds, across the nations of the globe! Just as He did then, when He finally brings us up—firstly out of Spiritual Egypt/Babylon and secondly out of modern-day Egypt/Babylon—He will also bring up a mixed multitude of the 70 nations of the world, to join as one with the descendants of Aḇraham.

So although, in a sense, Passover was fulfilled in Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 when He died and was sacrificed for us—also in the month of AḆIḆ—Passover will again be fulfilled when He delivers us, by a strong hand and outstretched arms, out of wherever we are in these distant lands. That is our hope!

“For He shall send his messengers to gather His elect from the four winds of the earth… (Matt 24:31),” and His promise is sure! So beyond remembering His death and Sabbath resurrection, we also remember His faithful assurance, that He will return to reap a bountiful harvest of souls! ABIB marks the time of putting away sin—removing the leaven from our lives by the Blood of Messiah—and putting on the righteousness of YAH, as He purges us and makes us unleavened!
